The imperial mushroom from Japan
Resistance · Protection
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) has been a prized mushroom in China and Japan for over a thousand years. It naturally grows on fallen trunks of the shii tree, which is where it gets its name: shii (the tree) and take (mushroom). As early as the Song dynasty, it was deliberately cultivated on wood, and in Japan it was long known as a mushroom for the imperial court. Today, shiitake is one of the most cultivated mushrooms in the world.
Shiitake is also of interest to scientists. It naturally contains special compounds, such as lentinan (a beta-glucan named after shiitake) and eritadenine, and it is rich in polysaccharides. Research into these has been ongoing for decades.
With the capsules, you take shiitake with you every day, as a concentrated extract and without having to cook. Simple, solid and reliable, for those who like a classic with a long history.
