McMyco Lion's Mane powder
Your morning coffee, but with Lion's Mane
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), known in Dutch as the shaggy mane mushroom, immediately stands out with its white, mane-like spikes. This mushroom has been eaten and appreciated in Asia for centuries. Today, it is one of the most sought-after functional mushrooms in the world, and for good reason.
In Japan, it is called yamabushitake, after the yamabushi: mountain monks with fluffy tassels on their robes that closely resembled the mushroom. According to tradition, Buddhist monks drank it as tea before meditating. The shaggy mane mushroom is rare in the Netherlands and is on the Red List, so you won't come across it in the woods just anywhere. Scientists know it well: hericenones and erinacines are named after it and are being extensively researched.
The powder is a favorite of anyone who starts their day with a cup of coffee or tea. Add one teaspoon and you make your own mushroom coffee, exactly the way you like it. Also delicious in your smoothie, oatmeal, or shake.
